Tornado fell short in Reims this weekend, losing 9-3 in a challenging matchup against one of the league’s top teams. Tornado fought hard, with Antoine Thomas, Greg Holodkvos, and Filib Chab each finding the net, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Reims’ offensive pressure, especially as injuries continue to limit the roster.

Head Coach Christer Eriksson reflected on the game: “It’s difficult to maintain energy for a full 60 minutes, especially with so many players injured. We played with only 2.5 lines and took quite a few penalties, so we just couldn’t keep up in the last period.”

Tornado stayed close in the first two periods, trailing by only one goal heading into the third. “In the third period, we were down by just two goals, which is ‘nothing’ in hockey. But trying to go on the offensive when you’re tired often opens up opportunities for the opponent,” Eriksson explained.

The team hopes to be in better shape next weekend when they return home to face Orleans, a direct competitor in the current standings. Coach Eriksson is optimistic about the upcoming match: “Hopefully, we’ll have a more complete lineup by then for what should be a key game in our standings.”

The Tornado fans are sure to bring the energy at home, as the team looks to turn things around and secure a victory.
